Hi! How's your day today? As for me, today is an amazing day! Why? Hehe let me keep it secret. Guys, please smile and keep positive eventhough it is a tough day!
So, today's topic for our LAST CLASS for Study Skills is "Time Management and Organizational Skills" and the class was conducted by Miss Nursyahida.

TIME MANAGEMENT

What is the meaning of time?

I personally think that time management is very important. Why? Here are some of the reasons;-
  1. It allows you to accomplish whatever you want in your life in a shorter period of time
  2. Leads to more free time
  3. Help to focus
  4. Happy!
  5. Lower your stress (This is very important  because we as a student, definitely will have a hectic day, life and stuff. It is a must for us to have a good mood or in a good condition all the time so that we can keep everything on track)

ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

I'm sure enough that you guys want to know how to manage your time effectively, isn't it? So, here are the list how you should manage your time;-
  • Weekly schedule
  • Daily planner
  • Semester Calendar
  • Academic vs Personal life
  • Avoid procrastination

Okay wait, what is the procrastinate? It is basically an act of putting off doing something. It is the thief of time. The reason why we should avoid procrastination is because to avoid failure, being rebellious and being lazy. These are some of the remedy of avoiding procrastination.

Peeps, do believe me that there are a lot of advantages of being organized. For example, it can build your confidence, reduce your burden, not stressed out and etc. So please be organized or else your life can be miserable!

This is my weekly schedule;-

Before the class ended, Miss Nursyahida gave us a task for us to complete it and yeah it's done!

So guys, that's the end of my UED's class! I would like to thanks Miss Shamsinar for her continous guidance! Much love ya miss 💌 I feel sooooooo sad to leave the class especially my group mates! TAKING LECTURE NOTES

Last Wednesday on 11th July 2017,  Madam Normala was in charged of the UED class. The topic was "Taking Lecture Notes (Topic 6)". Actually I was looking forward to be in her class because some of my friends from other classes said that she was dabomb! And yeah, she was amazing. I'm sure that "AKU BIMBANG" is her trademark ahahahahha!

TAKING LECTURE NOTES

Have you ever thought why do we take lecture notes? Madam Normala told us some of the reasons. Let me tell you why. I bet 4 is enough isn't it?

  • To be a active listener
  • Accurate record of information
  • To interpret, condense and organize information
  • For repetition of material

How to take lecture notes? I mean the effective way, so that it will be easier for us to read. There are two ways;-

A) PREPARE BEFORE TAKING NOTES

  • Read before class
                 - Build up background
                 - Have an idea what the lecture is about
                 - Identify the main idea

  • Get ready to take notes as you walk into the classroom
  • Sit in front

B) BECOME ACTIVE LISTENER

  • Read before lecture
  • Sit in the lecturer's line of vision
  • Decide what to listen
  • Control emotional responses

Have you ever heard about cornell systems of taking notes? This is the best way for you guys to make it organized.

So far all of the UED classes are going very well. I hope that it will be the same for the last 2 classes or else 'Aku bimbang' before the interim session end hehe!

LIBRARY & CAMPUS RESOURCES

It's been a while since I updated my last entry. So today I want to share about my 4th UED102 class, which was conducted yesterday by Miss Nur. "Library & Campus Resources (Topic 3)" was the title of yesterday's discussion. At first, I didn't feel excited to come to the class because you know, it was UED's first class after the Hari Raya holidays. But surprisingly the class was fun and I enjoyed it.

LIBRARY

Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Rahman (PTAR) is the name of Uitm Raub's library. I swear, it is really really big! It consist of 2 floors. The 1st floor is more to Public Admin students and Business Students, while the 2nd floor is especially for CS111 students.

Miss Nur gave us a lot of information on how to borrow books and the rules there. The students can borrow maximum 20 books and the loan periods are 14 days while the loan periods for the lectures are 29 days. You will be fined 20 cent if you send it back over the due date. Here is the process;-

WEBopac ➞ Counter ➜ Loan process ➜ Due date

PTAR have many facilities such as;-

  • Lockers
  • WiFi
  • Air conditioner
  • Reading room
  • Newspaper
  • Magazines

At PTAR also there are some rules that we have to obey. For example we need to wear our matrix card, wear smart casual and cannot wear 'selipar jamban' woi! HEHE. Otherwise you will be fined.

CAMPUS RESOURCES

There are many online sources services at PTAR which are E-book, Blis, WEBopac, online journal and stuff.  After the class break, Miss Nur gave us lists of websites if we want to know more about UITM. You guys also can check it out down below!
  1. http://www.uitm.edu.my/index.php/en/
  2. http://library.uitm.edu.my/v4/index.php/en/

She also gave us an information about APA Styles.

Before the class ended, she took us out to PTAR and we did some activities there. Firstly, she asked us to sit with our current group. After that, she gave us 2 pieces of paper for us to answer all of the question. It was interesting because the environment was so cool!

                                                                                ❤️!
